“The Walking Dead” star Andrew Lincoln left the show in season 9. AMC started airing the series, which is among the most watched TV series of all time, in 2010.
Why did Rick Grimes leave The Walking Dead?
Lincoln played the lead character Rick Grimes in the series based on Robert Kirkman’s acclaimed comic book series.
One of the reasons behind “The Walking Dead” gaining such a large audience is that the main characters often and unexpectedly die in the zombie apocalypse storyline. But Lincoln had been on the show for quite some time.
He could not spend time with his family:
The actor’s reason for leaving “The Walking Dead” was his family. Lincoln has two children and his family lives in England.
According to Screen Rant’s report, the production of “The Walking Dead” took place largely in Atlanta, and Lincoln hadn’t spent as much time as he wanted with his family in the last months of production. When he decided to spend more time with his family, he decided it was time to leave “The Walking Dead”.
THE TURNING POINT OF THE INDEX
The actor’s decision to leave “The Walking Dead” was a turning point for the drama. In the absence of its most important character, the series had to shift its focus elsewhere and rebuild the story. After Lincoln’s departure, there was a 6-year temporal leap forward in season 9, so “The Walking Dead” had the opportunity to tell what happened to the core character team while Rick was away.
“The Walking Dead” received very good reviews from now on, and with the idea of ending the series in the 11th season, an endgame plan emerged. Norman Reedus, who portrays Daryl in the drama, stated that Lincoln told him that he left at the wrong time when he saw how much the drama had improved.
‘RICK’S RETURN WILL BE GREAT’
Rick Grimes’ story will continue on the big screen with the Walking Dead Universe to be developed. The screenplay of the movie project, in which Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, will continue to bring the character to life, is written by producer Scott Gimple and series creator Robert Kirkman.
Gimple said of the movie series planned as a trilogy, “It is possible that there are not many connections in these first movies, but as I said, everything is changing. And things take much longer than we expected.”
“So in some ways we’re still in the lab. We’ve worked on it quite a bit, but we’re trying to perfect it right now.” The team that kidnapped Rick in season 9 of The Walking Dead was the Civil Republic Army (CRM). He also confirmed that the Gimple movie franchise will explore the “vast mythology” of the widely influential CRM.
Speaking to ComicBook.com in July, Gimple said that (Andrew) Lincoln was closely interested in the film and was “looking forward to returning” to the Walking Dead Universe. “Why did Rick Grimes leave The Walking Dead? “we came to the end of our content named. Take care, stay healthy and PATR!
